A COMMUNITY CLAIMED AND COMMISSIONED BY CHRIST

We believe that Christ is the center of all that we do. We are called out of the world at large by the teachings of Jesus as found in the Bible. It is in this community of believers that we grow and continue along our spiritual pathway. Christ sends us out into the world to share the good news of the gospel with others and to minister to their needs.

We believe that every person, Christian and non-Christian alike, is valuable to God and to God’s Kingdom and that God’s Word is the supreme authority; that love and caring relationships are the key to every endeavor, that each member needs to be encouraged and supported in committing to a lifestyle of consistent spiritual growth with honest accountability; and that each person is a minister with spiritual gifts to be discovered, developed, and deployed; wherein we strive to identify and train emerging leaders who embrace the building of teams for effective ministry.

Give the Church Library a Try
We just want to make sure everyone is aware Grace UMC does have an up and running library.  It is located in the Adult Sunday school room upstairs at the end of the hall.  There are five shelving units of books for our congregation’s use.  When you choose a book to check out, all you need to do is:  take out the card from the envelope in the book, write your name on the card along with the date you checked it out, place that card behind the letter divider according to your last name.  The dividers are in a small metal box on the shelf to your right or on the small table.  There should be a pencil included inside the box.  Then when you return the book to the library, please find the card in the box and place it back in the envelope in the book.  You may reshelf the book or leave it on the small table.  That is all there is to it.
About 45 nice gift books, both fiction and non-fiction, have recently been added to the library.  Also, look for a basket on the New Books shelf.  In that basket, we now have two DVD’s of the Gaither Family and some music CDs of contemporary Christian music.  Check it out!
The children and teen shelves could use more books.  If you have some books in good shape for these age groups and would like to give them to the church, you can either bring them and place them in the library or call Phyllis Schwaninger (526-2494).
